Ecology and description
Greater tip-nosed frog is an endemic species found only on Ishigaki and Iriomote. Its species name, supranarina, means larger than the Okinawa tip-nosed frog (O. narina). The body length of males is about 6-7 cm, while females measure approximately 8-12 cm. The juveniles of Greater tip-nosed frog are difficult to distinguish in size from the Odorrana utsunomiyaorum, which also inhabit Ishigaki and Iriomote. However, Greater tip-nosed frog has a more pointed snout, and its back appears smoother due to less prominent skin ridges.
