Ecology and description
Ryukyu green snake is about 70 to 80 cm in length and is not as bright green as the Chinese green snake (Cyclophiops major) distributed in China and Taiwan. It usually appears as a deep green with a hint of brown, sometimes featuring dark brown longitudinal stripes.

Observations of Ryukyu green snake in Okinawa vary greatly with season and environment. I have spotted it early in the morning during the 【Morning Birding】 by the roadside, in the afternoon during the 【Forest Walk】, and during 【Herping】 tours at night. However, overall observation frequency is not high.
