  • Available year-round
    • Duration: 2 hours
    • Capacity: 1 – 8 persons
    • 1 person: 10,000 JPY / person
    • 2 – 3 persons: 6,000 JPY / person
    • Ages 6 – 15: 4,500 JPY / person (When accompanied by at least 2 adults aged 16+)
    • Children under 6 are welcome to join. A 500 JPY insurance fee applies per child.
    • Groups of 4+: 20,000 JPY / group (Plus 500 JPY / person for insurance)
  • Trail Entrance Fees (Free for guests staying at Yambaru Discovery Forest):
    • Ages 13+: 600 JPY / person
    • Ages 4 – 12: 500 JPY / person
    • Please pay at the Yambaru Discovery Forest front desk (Credit cards accepted).
    • When the facility is closed on Tuesdays and Wednesdays, the guide will collect the fee (Cash only).
  • Price examples
    • 2 adults (16+) + 2 children (6-15):
      (6,000 x 2) + (4,500 x 2) = 21,000 JPY (Total)
    • 4 adults (16+):
      20,000 + (500 x 4) = 22,000 JPY (Total)

We will walk along the trails at Yambaru Discovery Forest to observe species such as sword-tailed newts, frogs, snakes, and insects. The route is flat and easy to walk, making it suitable for all ages and group tours.
21:30End at: Meeting point
What to bring

  • Comfortable walking shoes (no open-toe footwear)
Notes
  • Under Japan’s guiding permit, our nature tours may include pickup.
  • We use the trail at Yambaru Discovery Forest to observe small nocturnal wildlife such as newts, frogs, snakes, and insects. If you are not staying overnight at Yambaru Discovery Forest, a trail admission fee is required.
  • Night entry to the trail requires a guide. Please do not enter on your own.
  • On Tuesdays and Wednesdays Yambaru Discovery Forest may be closed; in that case the meeting point will be Aha Dam Parking.
  • Weather policy: the tour runs if rainfall is expected to stay at or below about 3 mm per hour and easing off. We cancel for typhoons, heavy rain, or cold waves.
  • Sightings of specific species are not guaranteed.
