Yanbaru (Yambaru) Discovery Forest is an accommodation and environmental education facility, located right in the heart of the World Natural Heritage site, surrounded by forests. The facility offers nature observation trails, making it perfect for birdwatching, plant observation, and spotting amphibians and reptiles.

Room Facilities
Yanbaru Discovery Forest offers two types of rooms. One is the twin type, which includes a bathroom and toilet in the room, while the other is the family type, resembling a dormitory where the toilet and bath are located outside the room. To reduce plastic waste, disposable amenities such as toothbrushes and toothpaste are not provided in the rooms. If needed, they can be purchased at the reception. Towels and bath towels are provided. You can make reservations through the official website.
Restaurant
There are no stores near Yanbaru Discovery Forest where you can purchase food (the nearest store is about 10 minutes by car in Aha settlement). It is recommended to book meals in advance when staying or bring instant noodles or bento boxes. (The facility has a microwave and an electric kettle).
Activities at Yanbaru Discovery Forest
There are three main trails in the forest:
- River Song Trail: 700 meters long, requires a guide.
- Accessibility Trail: 670 meters long, suitable for both the elderly and children.
- Wild Boar Trail: 1.5 kilometers one-way with steep slopes.
